I have a 1956 Plus 4 that needs a new front suspension sub-frame. (Morgan Spares Ltd. manual, line 30, part# 33). The radiator mounting brackets need to be attached to the sub-frame but I don’t know exactly where they belong. I have shown some photos that might be helpful. If anyone has some suggestions or a photo showing how the radiator is attached to the sub-frame, it would be very helpful.

Thanks

Barrie

Hi Chris,

No, I have not found the sub-frame information - I still need it. Any ideas?

Hi Barrie,

I have recently acquired a 1956 Plus 4 chassis #3329. It requires a full restoration but is complete and rust/rot free.

The dimension you are seeking is 4" with a ⅝" backset from the front edge.

I attach pics. of my car as delivered home and the chassis as of today prepared for paint.

best regards........................Chris Shaw

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the information. I have an old picture (1977) of my car that seems to give me the exact sub-frame information that you provided but I didn’t believe it. I was about to attach the radiator but it doesn’t seem to fit. I guess I’ll have to check the radiator again (see my latest photos below).

Your car seems to be in the same condition as mine. Here’s a picture.
