I am about to replace the floor boards on my 1969. 4/4 two seater. Does anyone have advice regarding sealing the boards to chassis?

I just replaced mine. I sealed the wood with epoxy (WEST system) then put 1/16" butyl tape between frame and floorboards. It's strong and adhesive enough to seal and add some rigidity but not brittle or crack prone.

Phil

Interesting one this, if your likely to need to take them up for any reason or likely to get rained on and full of water then you may be better of POR15 coating the chassis and not sealing the boards down.

We have put captivated nuts into our boards and bolted with stainless from underneath

If you seal the boards to the chassis then where does any rain water go, will it sit and rot the boards / chassis?

Make your choice and live with the consequence !

Thanks for your reply what sort of captivated nuts do you use?
