Hi all
Two questions about the rear axle:
- Should I lightly oil the axle shaft cone when installing the wheel hub, or do I need to degrease it and perform a dry installation?
- Are there torque settings for the axle shaft/wheel hub nut, or is the torque simply "very tight"?

Greetings... If you are talking about the "knock offs" the recommended torque from Ferrari is 325 ft/lbs. When we were dealing with a Lola 332 F500 race car, we had a 4 foot long torque wrench. Not convenient for our little cars. I have a rawhide mallet about 2.5 - 3 lb with which I whack on the knockoffs. There is also a long, maybe 18 inches, steel wrench sold by Moss. I use one of these for tightening the knockoffs with a mighty tug on the handle. That gets them tight enough that I need my mallet to remove them. I would also recommend applying antisieze to the splines and the threads. Never had one come loose.
