Will be looking at a 1961 +4 in the near future.
The oil pressure gauge is not working so need to rig up something temporary.
Can either remove the pipe from the current gauge and attach another gauge but what fittings are normally used? (flat end or conical?)
Or it might be easier to remove the pressure gauge pipe from the 4 way oiler on the bulkhead and attach a gauge there, again what fittings? (1/8 BSP?)
Thanks
Kevin

Heck, you are in the UK! Just take out your current fitting from the engine and match it to your accessory gauge, though I bet that any any accessory gauge you purchase will have the correct adapter included. Probably BSP. This is an easy one. I am sure that just about any auto parts store will have what you need, or specialty parts (Merlin Racing is a good one) supplier. They sell Smiths gauges and fittings.
My +8 has plastic lines with standard B nuts and olives. These can be replaced with braided Teflon -3 lines with adapters. Olives can be found at your local auto parts store or plumbing section of your hardware store. When I replaced the line, I went to the local plumbing supply. They had precisely the part I needed to fit my original oil gauge fittings.
