I did run it with the fuel cap off and no change. No fuel at the clear filter.

So yes I'll do all the tests tomorrow and see if the pump is picking up any fuel. Then go from there.

Thanks for all your advice

The fuel pump has been installed with the In and Out pipes situated and also wired correctly?

Well I’m an idiot My brother’s been helping me so he came over this morning and we were going to try and run some fuel from the pump into a jar. He got to looking closely at the pump and we had the input and output lines switched. DOH ! Switched them out and took a test run. All is well.

Had a rough idle after some time driving around town. So maybe a little water in the gas ? I put in some gas conditioner and let it idle for 15 minutes.

So far so good

If you use E10 fuel that should help keep water out of the system (unless the alcohol mixed with the gasoline is already saturated with water, and the fuel stratifies with a water/alcohol mix on the bottom). But if you're not, water droplets can bead up on the fine sock filter that sits on the end of some fuel tank pickup designs, blocking fuel flow.
